Wisconsin Foster & Adoptive Parents' Association
It was my pleasure to visit with you during my training program, Managing the Oppositional and Defiant Child, in Manitowoc. It was a pleasure to be a resource to you all and the work you do with foster and adoptive youngsters.
I mentioned about the ODD Management Digest
while I was there. This is a monthly email "newsletter," about 9 to 12 pages
long printed, that has specific tips for parents and resource parents, educators
and counselors. Plus, it has other free things, and always a human interest
piece of some sort. Subscribe to it once, and it will show up in their email
when the new monthly editions come out. (Don't worry; you can unsubscribe any
time you wish.) It's a great way to continue to get timely and fresh ideas.
Here's the link to it:

Plus, here's a link to a free, 18-page e-book for parents, resource parents and
educators entitled, Resolving
Conflicts with Your Children. It's kind of cookbook-ish, but I find
folks like to know the steps to follow.

And last, something pretty new, is the link to a 24-minute studio recording that
was done in Houston a few years back,
Pull the Plug on Failure.
It you can access it through the current ODD Management Digest, or
through my website directly. The site takes you to a description, with a link.
It's in .wav format, and it would be fine if you wanted to put it on audio CD to
play in the car or on any CD player. (This resource looks into the issues of
psychological distress I mentioned early in the program, what it looks like
behaviorally, and how we can offer support to youngsters who struggle with
failure.)
